OVERCOMING PROCRASTINATION

 Procrastination is a challenge that everyone faces more than once in their life. It can be a reason or a barrier to productivity and self-improvement, primarily procrastination is the art of delaying thing without a reason. It makes a person feel that they have a lot of time to that work, which causes the work to be excessively delayed. Though it can cause various problems, here are some tips to overcome Procrastination.


1. Identifying Triggers For Your Procrastination:

Understanding the reason behind your procrastination is the first step of over coming it. There can be various reasons for a person to procrastinate, it can be the feeling of getting overwhelmed or finding task uninteresting. Identifying the main cause can help a person to tackle it head-on. 

2. Set Specific, Attainable Goals:

Instead of vague and big goals, breaking down your goals into further sub-goals can make your task smaller and more actionable. For instance, rather than a generic "Work on a Project", set a goal like "Draft Project's Outline". Clearer and sustainable goals makes it easier to get started.    

3. Establishing A Structured Routine: 

A well-organised schedule can guide you make further plans more easily and can help you to take time for your work more easy. Allot time blocks for various activities and try your best to stick with this plan. Utilise planners and calendars to stay organised and focused. 

4. Minimise Distractions:

Identifying and then eliminating the distractions that are hindering your progress can be a great step in order to overcome your procrastination. Distractions can be in various means, for some people it may be phone or any other electronic device while for others it can also be the presence of a person, which they can talk to. If you are using gadgets for studying, blocking websites like forest can be useful. Usually silencing your phone, blocking distracting websites, or creating a quite workspace can reduce distractions, enhancing your concentration.

5. Getting Motivation: 

Rewarding yourself can prove to be a powerful motivator. Establish a system of incentives where you indulge in small treats or breaks upon completing tasks. This positive reinforcement not only makes the process more enjoyable but also encourages sustained productivity. The rewards can be as simple as taking a leisurely stroll, savouring your favourite snack, or indulging in a few minutes of your beloved activity. Another great motivation can be the effective use of podcast. 6. Being Accountable:

Allow yourself to bask in the satisfaction and reap the benefits that accompany the fulfilment of your work.
